Welcome to YourSmileDental !
Over the past 20 years, living and working in Darwin, I have grown to love the lifestyle and people here. I am passionate about my vocation as a dentist and with well over 20 years of clinical experience, have realised that it is vital that my patients feel cared for regardless of what their dental treatment need is. |
Originally from Scotland, where I was born and raised by my Chinese parents, hence the Scottish accent which can confuse some people (with the Chinese appearance). I graduated with a Batchelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Glasgow University in 1999.
I greatly believe in extensive continuing professional development and completed numerous courses throughout the years including:

As locals of Darwin, my husband and I want to serve our community by providing an excellent standard of dental care in a warm family atmosphere where everyone – patients and staff feel welcome, looked after and cared for.
Other than work and studies, I love spending quality time with my family, travelling and enjoy a lifestyle of health and fitness.

I am proud to present it to you YourSmileDental. I am orginally from London, raised from an early age in Brisbane, I then moved to the Northern Territory in 1993. I can honestly say that I have never regretted this decision and I am proud to be a Territorian.

I started my career in the hotel industry, where I gained love for working with people, found a passion for the service industry and have pursued the provision of superior customer service.
Over the past ten years, I have had an interesting career change to Risk Management and Compliance.
In 2013 we established our company Charis Management Services.

Originally from the Philippines, the Northern Territory has been my beloved home for the past 13 years. After graduating from the University of East Philippines with a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (2005), I worked in my own private practice for 5 years. Being a great believer in continual learning, I then went on to complete Post Graduate Training in Orthodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry and also a hospital-based Internship Programme in Oral Surgery. |
Having passed the Australian Dental Council exams, I have worked as a registered dentist in Australia for several years. I have continued on to complete the renowned Progressive Orthodontic Series training and also POS Children’s Orthodontics seminars. As well as orthodontics, I enjoy all aspects of dentistry. My goal at YourSmileDental is to provide optimum dental care for all of my patients which I believe is achieved through my passion to help people. With all of the knowledge and experience I have obtained in the dental field, I am better equipped to be able to serve my patients well.
Aside from my passion with dentistry, I devote my time to my beautiful family, my friends, enjoying life to the fullest and importantly, my faith.

I am a Darwin local and completed my entire schooling in Darwin. I have always had a passion for dentistry. When I completed year 12, I entered the dental industry working as a chair side assistant. This experience made me realise that Dentistry was definitely a career I wanted to strive towards.
I completed my first Bachelor Degree in Oral Health Therapy (OHT) at Griffith University and have worked as an Oral Health Therapist for 5 years following. |
Following the completion of my Degree in Oral Health Therapy (OHT), I have now completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University.
Dentistry has provided me with such unique and challenging experiences both here in Australia and overseas. I was fortunate enough to spend 5 months working in the Torres Strait Islands in far north Queensland. Following this experience, I spent a month working in the Solomon Islands, working in both Auki (capital of the Malaita Province) and in the remote village of Atoifi. All these communities are extremely under serviced by medical and dental practitioners, which was extremely eye opening and challenging at times.
I believe I can provide my patients at YourSmileDental with the highest standard of personalised care.
Outside of my passion for dentistry, I am a very keen cricketer, fisherman and love the lifestyle that comes with the Territory.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong and I qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2018 and subsequently completed the Dental Therapy course in 2020. Moving to Australia in 2023, having passed the Australian Dental Council exams, I am now excited to start working as a Dental Hygienist. I am very pleased to be part of the team at YourSmileDental and believe that all my experiences and knowledge will aid me greatly in providing the highest quality of service to my patients.

In Hong Kong, my dental career started as a Dental Hygienist in private practice alongside specialist periodontists, providing general cleaning and periodontal treatment. Besides normal clinic duties, we also provide outreach dental service for disadvantaged patients every month. As I wanted to expand my scope of work, I then completed another year of Dental Therapy study. I worked as a Hygienist in the Government School Dental Care Service providing preventive, restorative and other dental services to all primary school and special needs children. After two years of dental therapy work, I performed as a Dental Hygienist again in a corporate clinic alongside different dental specialists in providing comprehensive care.
I was also a committee member in Hong Kong Dental Hygienists’ Association since graduating from Dental Hygiene course. Besides normal duties, I have also attended meetings with Department of Health in amending the Dentist Registration Ordinance. There was an extensive survey conducted (regarding opinions in order to elevate the ordinance the provision of dental services for citizens and involving 700 participants from both dental professionals and citizens.
Outside of my work life, I am passionate about exploration and I am very active in participating in various sports. You may see me around teaching yoga at my leisure!
