Over the past 23 years, living and working in Darwin, I have grown to love the lifestyle and people here. I am passionate about my vocation as a dentist and with well over 20 years of clinical experience, have realised that it is vital that my patients feel cared for regardless of what their dental treatment need is. |
Originally from Scotland, where I was born and raised by my Chinese parents, hence the Scottish accent which can confuse some people (with the Chinese appearance). I graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Glasgow University in 1999.
I greatly believe in extensive continuing professional development and completed numerous courses throughout the years including:

As locals of Darwin, my husband and I want to serve our community by providing an excellent standard of dental care in a warm family atmosphere where everyone – patients and staff feel welcome, looked after and cared for.
Other than work and studies, I love spending quality time with my family, travelling and enjoy a lifestyle of health and fitness.

I am proud to present it to you YourSmileDental. I am orginally from London, raised from an early age in Brisbane, I then moved to the Northern Territory in 1993. I can honestly say that I have never regretted this decision and I am proud to be a Territorian.

I started my career in the hotel industry, where I gained love for working with people, found a passion for the service industry and have pursued the provision of superior customer service.
Over the past ten years, I have had an interesting career change to Risk Management and Compliance.
In 2013 we established our company Charis Management Services.

Originally from the Philippines, the Northern Territory has been my beloved home for the past 13 years. After graduating from the University of East Philippines with a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (2005), I worked in my own private practice for 5 years. Being a great believer in continual learning, I then went on to complete Post Graduate Training in Orthodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry and also a hospital-based Internship Programme in Oral Surgery. |
Having passed the Australian Dental Council exams, I have worked as a registered dentist in Australia for several years. I have continued on to complete the renowned Progressive Orthodontic Series training and also POS Children’s Orthodontics seminars. As well as orthodontics, I enjoy all aspects of dentistry. My goal at YourSmileDental is to provide optimum dental care for all of my patients which I believe is achieved through my passion to help people. With all of the knowledge and experience I have obtained in the dental field, I am better equipped to be able to serve my patients well.
Aside from my passion with dentistry, I devote my time to my beautiful family, my friends, enjoying life to the fullest and importantly, my faith.

I’m a proud Darwin local, born and raised, having completed all my schooling right here in the Top End. From a young age, I’ve been passionate about dentistry. After finishing Year 12, I began my journey in the dental field as a chairside assistant—an experience that confirmed dentistry was the career I was meant to pursue.
I went on to complete a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy at Griffith University and worked as an Oral Health Therapist for five rewarding years. Building on that foundation, I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from James Cook University. |
Dentistry has taken me on an incredible journey, both within Australia and abroad. I had the privilege of spending five months providing dental care in the remote communities of the Torres Strait Islands in Far North Queensland. Following that, I volunteered for a month in the Solomon Islands, working in Auki (the capital of Malaita Province) and the remote village of Atoifi. These underserved communities opened my eyes to the profound impact dental care can have in areas with limited access to health services—experiences that were both challenging and deeply humbling.
I’m excited to bring my skills, compassion, and commitment to excellence to the team at YourSmileDental, delivering personalised, high-quality care to every patient.
Outside the clinic, I’m a passionate cricketer and keen fisherman who truly embraces the laid-back, outdoor lifestyle that makes the Territory so special.

I grew up in the regional community of Mount Gambier in South Australia. My interest in dentistry started early. After high school I took a gap year to complete my Certificate III in Dental Assisting with SA Health. This gave me valuable hands-on experience and sparked a strong passion for providing quality care, particularly in rural communities.

I went on to complete a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) at La Trobe University in Bendigo. I undertook my placements across regional Victoria. These experiences deepened my understanding of the unique challenges faced by remote and regional populations and reinforced my commitment to supporting rural health.
In 2024, I was honoured to receive the Royal Flying Doctor Service “Give Them Wings” scholarship, which recognised my advocacy for rural communities and supported my development as an emerging clinician.
My first experience of Darwin was a holiday visit and I instantly connected with its lifestyle, culture, and welcoming community. After meeting my partner here and travelling back and forth for two and a half years, I am excited to now call Darwin home and begin the next chapter of my life and career with the YourSmileDental team.
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy fishing, playing hockey and making the most of everything the Territory has to offer. I value time with family and appreciate the strong sense of community that regional areas are known for.

I grew up on my family farm on the Yorke Peninsula before moving to Adelaide, where I completed my Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Adelaide.My rural upbringing taught me the value of community, hard work, and genuine connection, all of which have shaped the way I approach patient care.
During my studies and clinical training, I gained experience across a wide range of areas, including South Australia’s Special Needs Unit, Orthodontics, Geriatric dentistry, and Paediatric care. These opportunities strengthened my clinical adaptability and deepened my commitment to providing individualised support to patients of all ages. I have a particular interest in caring for anxious patients and those with complex medical or behavioural needs, ensuring they feel safe, understood and empowered throughout their treatment. |
My approach to oral health is centred around building trust, clear communication, and creating a calm, comfortable environment. I believe in partnering with patients to help them achieve long-term oral health, celebrating the small steps and supporting them through every stage of their journey.
Outside of the clinic, I love staying active and spending time outdoors. I enjoy playing hockey and tennis, spending time by the ocean, exploring 4WD and camping adventures and cooking meals to share with friends and family. These hobbies help me maintain balance and stay connected to the lifestyle I love.
